Freiberg/LEI– In Germany, more and more people are eating vegan food, about 1.3 million people are now doing without any form of animal products, and the trend is rising. To take up this trend, Kentucky Fried Chicken has now also recognized this trend after several burger chains.
What Is The Burger Made From?
The 130 gram “filet” of the KFC burger consists of mycoprotein, which is produced by the fermentation of a natural fungal culture from tubular fungi (fusarium venenatum). A total of eleven herbs and spices, with which the vegan “filet” or breading is seasoned, provide the typical taste. In addition there is a vegan mayonnaise (with cornstarch instead of egg), a light bun with sesame and iceberg lettuce.
