Snapchat berencana uji coba penayangan jenis iklan baru
(LEI)– Dalam rangka mendapatkan profit, perusahaan induk Snapchat yakni Snap Inc tengah mencari cara lain untuk mendapatkan penghasilan, meski mereka juga berusaha mencegah pengguna menyeberang ke platform lain.
Cara yang diambil Snapchat saat ini adalah menambah jenis iklan di platform mereka, yakni iklan yang tak bisa dilewatkan oleh pengguna. Artinya, tak ada tombol skip jika pengguna tak ingin menonton iklan tersebut. Model iklan ini bernama Commercials dan hanya berdurasi enam detik dalam masa uji cobanya.
Commercials rencananya akan mulai diuji pada Mei 2018 dan akan tampil di beberapa konten Show, bukan di Personal Stories atau Discover. Biasanya, uji coba seperti ini merupakan upaya untuk melihat berapa banyak pengguna iklan yang bisa menoleransi hal tersebut.
Commercials diprediksi akan menjadi fitur yang ditujukan bagi perusahaan besar untuk menayangkan konten iklan berkualitas tinggi, dengan harga yang lebih mahal.
